The LM24E vaping machine is an aerosol generating device with 24 sample ports based on the principle of the LM20E. The LM24E was developed to generate larger amounts of aerosol under reproducible conditions, which can be collected and / or made available for further experiments. In both cases, the swiveling vaping bar allows the samples to be vaped at different angles to the horizontal position. The individual ports can be equipped with aerosol detectors as well as product activation units and the proven support options for samples of all sizes and formats from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs).

The entire process of the vaping process is coordinated by the control unit according to the master / slave principle. The operator is guided by the self-explanatory software and informed as comprehensively as possible about the current status of the machine. The machine can be connected to central computer systems via an Ethernet interface in order to transfer testing schemes and result tables.


Integrable NO / NOx analyzer for smoke and vaping machines.

In cooperation with a leading manufacturer of NO / NOx analyzers, Borgwaldt KC has developed an integrable, direct meaurement device based on the chemilumesniscence principle.

The smoke or the aerosol can be measured directly, without dilution or dosage. It offers the possibility to determine the NO and NOx quantities in every single puff, every cigarette or every tobacco heater or at the end of the completed smoking or vaping run.

The analyzer is available as an integrable option in the smoke machines RM20H2, RM200A2 and RM400A2. With all other smoke and vaping machines, the analyzer can be operated as an external module.


The LM1E enables the collection of aerosols from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs). As a single-channel machine, the LM1E is part of our modular smoking and vaping machine series (MSM), but can also be viewed as a stand-alone device. It consists of the high-performance piston pump unit PM1 with pre-installed software that enables sample registration, run control of the analysis and the results to be displayed. The swiveling LM1E vaping bar offers a sample port with an automatic activation function and freely adjustable support options for samples of all sizes and formats from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs).

The LM1E meets all the requirements of ISO 20768.

This vaping module is also available as a 5-port version LM5E.


The LM5E enables the collection of aerosols from all types of e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs). The LM5E is a member of our modular smoking and vaping machine series (MSM), but can also be viewed as a stand-alone device. It consists of the high-performance piston pump unit PM1 with pre-installed software that enables the samples to be registered, the analyzes to be carried out, the results to be displayed and, finally, trend diagrams to be created. The swiveling LM5E vaping bar offers 5 sample ports with an automatic activation function and freely adjustable support options for samples of all sizes and formats from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs).

The LM5E meets all the requirements of ISO 20768.

This vaping module is also available as a 1-channel version LM1E


As part of our modular series, the LM5E - SF was developed in particular to meet the requirements of research & development with regard to product developments with a focus on the consistent collection of larger quantities of aerosols of the same product for further analytical determinations and at the same time to meet all requirements of ISO 20768 for analytical vaping machines while retaining all the benefits of the LM5E series.

The LM5E - SF allows the user to collect individual puff by puff sequences of one to five products of the same type on one trap, either individually or in defined puff blocks. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the composition of the aerosol over the entire generation interval and thus about the quantitative provision of aerosol components via this.


As part of our modular series, the LM5E - SP was developed in particular to meet the requirements of research & development with regard to product developments with a focus on "puff-by-puff" analysis and at the same time to meet all requirements of ISO 20768 for analytical vaping machines while retaining all the benefits of the LM5E series. The LM5E - SP enables the user to collect individual puffs from one to five individual products on individual filters.

The LM5E - SP allows a very quick filter holder change thanks to our proven quick release mechanism. These investigations allow conclusions to be drawn about the puff resolved composition of the aerosol over a defined generation interval and thus the quantitative provision of aerosol components, in one run, in parallel from a maximum of 5 samples.

 


The LM20E is designed for the collection of aerosols of larger sample quantities from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs). It offers the user 20 individual sample ports on a swiveling vaping bar, which enables the samples to be vaped at different angles to the horizontal position. In blocks of 4 channels each, the ports are connected to 5 high-performance PM1 piston pumps, which are controlled via a touchscreen user interface.

The entire process of the vaping run is coordinated by the control unit according to the master / slave principle. All single ports can be individually connected to the most common collection systems such as glass fiber filters, liquid traps (Impingers) or electrostatic traps.


The LX20E3 offers 20 individually programmable vaping channels for testing larger sample quantities from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs). The individual channels of the vaping machine can be individually connected to the most common collection systems such as glass fiber filters, liquid traps (Impingers) or electrostatic traps. Optionally, each port can be equipped with an aerosol detection unit to control the aerosol flow. Further options are the integrated freely adjustable sample activation units and the sample supporters in various designs to keep each test item in the ideal position. The height-adjustable, swiveling vaping bar of the LX20E3 enables the user to vape at various angles of +/- 60 ° to the horizontal position at an ideal height for the user to make handling easier.

The operator is guided through the self-explanatory software and is informed as comprehensively as possible about the current status of the LX20E3. The machine can be connected to central computer systems for the transmission of vaping schedules and result tables via the Ethernet interface.


The NGX10 offers 10 individually programmable vaping channels for examining larger sample quantities from e-cigarettes, vaporizers and heated tobacco products (HTPs). The height-adjustable, swiveling NGX10 vaping bar offers ten sample ports with automatic activation function and adjustable support options for all sizes and formats of e-cigarettes, vaporizers and tobacco heaters.

All individual channels, from the sample port to the pump of the vaping machine, can be individually connected to all common collection systems such as glassfiber filter pads, liquid traps (Impingers) or electrostatic traps.

Optionally, each port can be equipped with aerosol detection units to control the aerosol flow. The NGX10 offers the possibility to carry out gas analyzes with the help of gas collection bags.

Integrated CO gas analyzers with different CO measuring ranges offer a flexible option in accordance with ISO 8454.

The NGX10 meets all the requirements of ISO 20768 and CRM 81 but also allows user-specific, different vaping regimes.


The CO / CO2 analyzer works with the NDIR method (non-dispersive infrared absorption) according to ISO 8454. It is available as an integrable option in the smoke machines RM20H2, RM200A2 and RM400A2 and is controlled by the software of the smoke machine. With integrated analyzers, the particle-free gas phase is collected over the entire smoke or vaping run. After the smoking or vaping process has ended, CO/CO2 concentration is automatically measured by the  analyzer. Of course, the analyzer can also be operated as an external module.


With the Inert Gas Module (IGM), users can monitor the influence of the absence of oxygen on the composition of the particle phase and its influence on the components of the gas phase, e.g. nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide when vaping heated tobacco products (HTPs). The chamber is continuously flushed with an inert gas, e.g. nitrogen, in order to displace any oxygen and thus prevent combustion. The direct comparison of the qualitative and quantitative composition of the particle and gas phase allows a reliable conclusion to the generation of the aerosol by evaporation only without pyrolysis or combustion.
